Steve and Hillary McSpadden joined forces 15 years ago and their team approach has attributed to helping over 1,000 families realize their dreams in the mountains. The majority of their business has been repeat and customer referral and the McSpaddens attribute this to their passion for sharing the Vail lifestyle with their clients.

Steve’s strong skiing ability during his youth led to attending, and ski-racing, at CU Boulder, followed by moving to the Valley 40 years ago. “I pride myself on knowing about every hidden powder stash,” Steve says. “Along with the best mountain-biking off the beaten path, and sharing the beauty of the West with our clients. I have been in Real Estate since 1980; every day is a new adventure, Vail is constantly expanding, and it truly never gets old. When I assist our clients in purchasing a home, I help them realize what is so special about Vail. “

In Vail, you come for the winter, and you stay for the summer,” Hillary adds. “We love the incredible skiing, but Steve, our daughter Bayli and I, live for the summer months too.” With that said, the McSpadden team works as hard as they play. Hillary has contributed to the wide success of two real estate companies as Managing Broker, and works tirelessly with Buyers and Sellers. A competitor on and off the court, she played Division I tennis for the University of San Diego and graduated in International Business. Hillary later earned an MBA from the University of Denver.

Michelle Rampelt’s expertise in marketing and short sales is an added layer to the McSpadden Team. “We know in life that change is the constant. When we list a home for our clients, we want to ensure strong positioning within the marketplace. We can’t control economic factors, but we can offer exceptional service and the latest tools available.” A graduate from University of Maryland, Michelle has resided in the Vail Valley since 2001, practicing Real Estate since 2007.

Michelle is often heard resonating one simple phrase: “If you’re lucky enough to be in the mountains, you’re lucky enough.” She loves to ski, run, hike with her dog, and is found riding her downhill mountain bike during the summer. Michelle also serves the Vail Board of Realtors on the Multiple-Listing Service and Education committees.

“When a client says, ‘why Vail,’ it is easy to describe,” Michelle says. “It doesn’t stop at recreation. This community is incredibly philanthropic and our second-homeowners are just as responsible for that as Vail’s founders. Whether Hillary is coaching high-school tennis, Steve is volunteering for the Vail Police Department, or I am working with the Board of Realtors, we embrace the opportunity to enhance the Valley, a place that has given us so much.
