Vail When we wake up and see that dusting of snow up in the Gore Range, we can only think of one thing: Ski Season. It is just around the corner and this season is expected to be a snowy one. Vail Resorts will spend $100 million to $115 million on improvements at its nine ski areas for the 2015-16 winter, pushing the resort operator’s five-year mountain investments beyond $500 million. Locally, Vail Mountain is seeing Chair #2, Avanti, upgraded to a 6-person chair, which will greatly improve the flow of skier traffic starting in Lionshead.
A new feature is coming to EpicMix that will include estimate lift line waiting times. EpicMix Time will use crowd-sourcing data to give you the most up to date information on how long a lift line might take you. Vail Resort’s biggest investment is the $50 million project linking Vail Resorts’ Canyons and Park City resorts in Utah into the country’s largest ski area.
