Vail’s On Mountain Decks

Mar 28, 2017 // Lacey Baccich

It’s Spring Break!! (or SB2K17 as the kids say it….) Spring break means we’re thinking about blue skies, warm temps, and our personal favorite, a good on mountain deck. Vail has great decks all over the mountain for you and your family (or just you if the kids are in ski school) to enjoy a delicious sandwich and (adult) beverage. Here are some of our favorites:

Blue sky Belle’s Camp – Blue Sky Basin

Perfect for a group – Belle’s Camp offers public grills, a snack shack, restrooms and tons of picnic tables for a hungry skier. The views are stunning and it’s a picturesque place for a photo!

 WindowsWindow’s Deck – Sun Down Bowl/Top of Chair 3

Window’s Deck requires a teeny tiny amount of work to get to, but the view is well worth it. Bring a sandwich and supplies as there are no grills! To get there- take Chair 3 up and cut behind Wildwood.

Hawk's Deck

Hawk’s Deck – Blue Sky Overlook/Top of Chair 5

Conveniently located at the top of chairs 4/5/11, Hawk’s Deck has a public grill and a great view out to Blue Sky. It is better to arrive early to get a table, but there is plenty of snow to sit on!!

Henry’s Hut – Across from Buffalo’s and Patrol Headquarters

Henry’s is a great place to gather as it has a grill, small deck, and a large heated yurt. Buffalo’s is right across the ski way if you forgot snacks, need plates, ketchup, a cold one, etc… Also, the hut is named after this cutie:

In Vail, Colorado. Ski patrol.
