Since graduating from college, I have bought and sold over 40 pieces of real estate. At no time has any realtor been more professional or helpful than Mike Spear. His main talent is to first sense and find out the true goal of the client both buying and selling. Mike has brokered more than 11 transactions for me. Each time, he has concentrated on my best interests. He has an uncanny ability to see a strategic move and the right timing. He gets very creative in matching buyer needs with the right property. Most importantly, he does not waste a buyer or seller's time going through property that will never fit. He has both saved and made me a lot of money in transactions by knowing the market on an up to the minute basis. I can recommend Mike to anyone needing a true real estate expert.

As a longtime property owner and investor in the Vail Valley, I have had the pleasure to have known and done business with Mike Spear. I consider him a friend as well as a very competent and knowledgeable realtor. He has helped me make many profitable real estate decisions over the years and his expertise has proven itself again and again. I am a Swiss citizen and Mike understands the particular needs and interests I have regarding investing in the U.S. He has amazed me with his professional approach and attention to detail. His overall knowledge of the Vail area has also provided me with important business and private contacts, which have proven very valuable. Thank You for everything, Mike, I would do business with you any day!

We have recommended Mike to several of our friends interested in Vail Valley Real Estate. His knowledge and hard work made selling our home in Eagle-Vail and purchasing another in Singletree a painless and profitable experience.

With my over 28 years of hands on real estate ownership in Beaver Creek and as an architect having bought and sold property all over the US, it was an immense pleasure to work with Mike this year in searching the entire Vail Valley for our next personal unit.
Mike's ability to "really listen" to us as we described every aspect of our desired unit exceeds my entire experience with every other broker I've ever met in the Vail Valley over the last three decades. Without Mike, we would have never found our ideal unit. Mike invested unselfishely so much of his time with us searching Beaver Creek that we actually began to count him as a member of our family...

Many years ago, we decided to take our first family skiing vacation. Having three young children at the time, I asked an ex-colleague, who had moved to Colorado, for a suggestion as to where we might visit. Without hesitation he recommended Beaver Creek as being the most family-friendly ski resort in the country. Soon thereafter, we found ourselves as “never-ever” skiers enrolled in ski school. It took only two short days to realize that Beaver Creek was the place where we wanted to have a winter home.
After ice-skating one evening in the village, we walked into the local Slifer office to investigate real estate possibilities. You happened to be on floor duty that night. Admittedly, we were completely in the dark as to how much money we wanted to spend, whether we wanted a home or a condo, or what particular location would best suit us. Both Vickie and I immediately felt comfortable with the patience you displayed and the friendly and welcoming manner with which you greeted us.
As you might remember, you spent a generous amount of time introducing us to the community and showing us a diverse menu of potential properties. Our own decision resulted in quite a delay in our ultimate choice. After numerous plane trips and the passing of a number of years, your patience and attention to our quest never abated. With your assistance, we finally chose a property that was perfect for our needs.
Upon reflection, your efforts on our behalf went well beyond the boundaries of a traditional real estate brokerage. Your advise during the bidding process, your suggestions with regard to financing options, and ultimately your recommendation of a wonderful interior designer all proved to be invaluable contributions to a project which has given our family much joy.
As a final note, your confidence in the soundness of our investment (the largest we have ever made) provided the inspiration necessary for us to pursue this transaction. It has been nothing short of a privilege to work with a man of your expertise and integrity.
Both Vickie and I look forward to a life-long friendship with you and your family.
Sincerely, Todd & Vickie Green

We live and work in New York City and decided we wanted to purchase a home somewhere completely different to get away from the hustle and bustle. Always having loved visiting the Vail Valley, we thought this would be a great place to enjoy life with family and friends well into the future.
Initially, our search began online using the Slifer Smith and Frampton website. We looked through hundreds of homes online over a one-year timeframe and decided it was time for us to contact a broker. We initially submitted interest through the website and shortly received a call from Mike Spear. In our initial conversation, Mike spent the time really trying to get to know our personalities and what our vision was for a house in the Vail Valley. Mike wasted no time helping us narrow down the neighborhoods he thought would best fit our goals of year-round living in an energetic, younger community.
After aggregating an initial list of homes, we traveled to the valley for a long weekend and Mike made sure to keep his schedule open for us. Mike drove us around Arrowhead, Edwards, Singletree, Cordillera, and Wolcott and pointed out positive and negative aspects of each location. His honest feedback and knowledge of the neighborhood, quality of homes, and local market made it easier for us to narrow down our list quickly. In the end we narrowed our list to two homes, both constructed by the same local builder. Mike, using his local connections, took us to meet with the builder to get a sense of his quality design and vision for the neighborhoods which he built. This visit helped us make our final decision.
While the fun part of finding the home was over, Mike truly made the rest of the journey rather painless. Communicating purely via email and phone from NYC, the process could not have been easier with respect to negotiation and completing documentation. Once final negotiations were complete, Mike helped arrange the inspection and closing process while we were still in New York. His assistance during this part was key to us being able to close on time without making multiple trips to Colorado.
In the end, we are extremely happy with our purchase and look forward to spending more time year-round in the valley. Mike was integral to the whole process and we could not thank him enough for his help from day one. If you are in need of an honest Midwestern broker with superior local real estate knowledge, Mike is your guy.
