Slifer Smith & Frampton, Vail Valley -  970.845.2000
Geoff Mintz comes to Slifer Smith & Frampton with deep roots in real estate, a long history in the Vail Valley, and a broad understanding of the ski industry. Son of a custom homebuilder, Geoff serves proudly as a fourth-generation real estate agent. He prides himself on being a straight-shooter, bringing a critical eye and an abundance of local knowledge to the home-buying experience.

Originally from New Jersey, Geoff first touched down in the Vail Valley in 1986 when his family purchased a modest home in the little-known resort of Beaver Creek. The valley soon became a true second home, as the family would fly to Colorado every chance they got. The skiing bug quickly took hold, and at a young age Geoff ventured up to the White Mountains of New Hampshire, where he attended Cardigan Mountain and Holderness schools. He went on to graduate from the University of Vermont, majoring in political science and minoring in tree skiing at Stowe.

In 2009, Geoff caught another bug — journalism. He began writing for local newspapers, focusing on skiing, music, and the mountain lifestyle. In 2012, he joined Ski Racing Media, the world’s premier English-language ski racing publication. Working alongside NBC Sports, Geoff traveled the World Cup and Olympic circuits covering the sport at the highest level. He was later named Editor-in-Chief and earned a reputation for taking on tough stories related to politics and governance in the sport.

Between stints at Ski Racing, Geoff also served as head of marketing and public relations for Ski & Snowboard Club Vail, notably overseeing communications for the Golden Peak Expansion Project and the $45 million Clubhouse Redevelopment Project.

Now, with a young daughter on the slopes, Geoff has been thrilled to refocus his energy on the Vail community, never forgetting that his journey began with the purchase of a $300,000 home in Beaver Creek.
