Donna is Passionate. She has an ambition to be part of Vail’s history. She lives, eats and breathes the Vail lifestyle and she wants to share the experience with others. Although she is a native Coloradoan, always having a home in Denver, she traveled extensively growing up which is ultimately what brought her back to the mountains and to a career involving homes. During her travels, and her time away from Colorado, she longed for the crisp blue skies, fresh air, stunning change of seasons and active lifestyle. Additionally, being away from home so often helped her to understand the meaning of a “home” whether it be a full-time or part-time home, these spaces are critically important to a life well lived.
Donna is Unique. She strives to think outside the box, and to be better than the rest. She wants to offer her clients an experience that no other broker will offer. She always has her eyes and ears open to the market in order to provide her clients with the most up to date information. This isn’t information you receive on the internet, this is information you receive from a broker who listens, participates, and who knows what is happening within her area of expertise on a daily basis.
Donna is Creative. She is a strategic thinker and a thoughtful listener who knows exactly how to showcase the best features of a home to create a distinct WOW! factor. Her background and education in design gives her a unique eye for staging and prepping homes to bring to market. Her comprehensive marketing strategy reaches brokers, agents — and most importantly, buyers — through a blend of local, national and international websites, print media, social media, special events, community engagement, professional marketing collateral, and more.
Donna is Collaborative. Working with Donna means exclusive access to a top-flight network of architects, builders, designers, AV specialists, landscapers, lighting designers, photographers, graphic designers, and other craftsmen. Donna is respected in the community and has worked in partnership with many of Vail’s top brokers.
Even beyond her place at the top of Vail’s real estate market, it says a lot about Donna that so many of her clients refer friends and family. Consistently recognized as one of Vail’s top producers in the super high-end market, Donna is well-known for her passionate drive to connect amazing people with extraordinary homes. Donna has represented two single-family home sales at the $23,000,000 price point, both accomplishing the highest residential transactions in Vail’s history by a licensed broker. She consistently produces record prices and prices per square foot for her sellers due to her ability to educate buyers and brokers about rare and one-of-a-kind locations. Her focus is consistently on quality rather than quantity.
Complementing Donna’s skill set, Licensed Assistant Emily Ferguson uses her master’s degree in Integrated Marketing Strategies to help Donna with tactical photography ideas and in writing strategic ad copy for Vail’s most prestigious publications. With a background in various marketing and relationship management roles in the financial services industry, Emily also translates market data to help Donna’s buyers and sellers understand the activity in their respective neighborhoods.
Donna’s experience is broad. She has worked in real estate in Vail for 33 years, not only in sales and property management, but as the Vice President of two boutique real estate firms. 10 years ago she found her permanent home with Slifer Smith and Frampton. In Donna’s words, “This company offers something very special that other companies in Vail do not have… over 50 years of caring for this community, over 50 years of client relationships… this company does in fact live and breathe the awesome lifestyle we offer here.”
Donna's Family. Donna and her husband Bill live in Edwards and raised their two sons in the Vail Valley. Chase (26) studied Information Technology at Rochester Institute of Technology and currently works as a software engineer for Datto in New York. Cole (24) obtained his Master's Degree in Mechanical Engineering at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and currently works as an Edison Engineer with GE Global Research in Seattle.
The interview below was recorded in May of 2020. A lot has changed in real estate since then!, but in many ways, there is still pent up demand. Call me to discuss how Vail has weathered the 2020 storm and to learn about opportunities that still exist here for Buyers.
