Previously having been a school teacher in his home state of Indiana, Ed moved to the Vail Valley in 1975 to be the assistant principal of the local Battle Mountain High school, then two years later became the principal of the local Minturn Middle School. Ed began his career in real estate in Vail in the fall of 1978, prior to being hired by Vail Associates Real Estate, January 1, 1980. After only one year with V.A.R.E, he was appointed the Managing Broker for Vail Associates Real Estate. At this time in 1982, Beaver Creek Resort opened and Ed chose to go back to full time sales and has been in Beaver Creek and Bachelor Gulch Village real estate offices since that time.
Among Ed's many real estate experiences, he held the position of Sales Manager for 4 different developers of eight condominium neighborhoods in Beaver Creek and was also sales manager of The Residential Suites and The Penthouses above the Ritz Carlton, Bachelor Gulch. Ed feels his greatest enjoyment and successes have been with assisting individual clients in finding the vacation retreat or residential home of their dreams. He takes pride in getting to know his clients and focusing on their specific needs whether they are a local, first time vacation buyer or new resident in the valley. Over the years many clients have become dear friends.
Ed holds a B.A. in Business from Ball State University, a Master’s in Education Administration from Purdue University and a Broker Associate Real Estate license in Colorado
After raising his family in the Vail Valley, Ed feels very fortunate to have made the decision to move west in 1975 and make the Vail Valley their home. Ed enjoys being in the outdoors and riding his horses in the beautiful Colorado landscape. He also enjoys spending as much time as possible with his daughter and two grandsons. Ed is also the co-director of the Vail Automotive Classic/Wheels and Wings annual event in the Vail valley.
